It is always truly an honor to have my work recognized by such prestigious resources. Here is an article Southpark magazine shared about my Couture Boudoir Brand.
“Boudoir is no longer just a risqué present for a groom-to-be, boudoir photography is now a gift that women of all ages and sizes are giving themselves—as a means of empowerment. A way to boost their confidence and give self-love.
We talked with International boudoir photographer Critsey Rowe, owner and founder of Couture Boudoir® and one of the premier boudoir photographers on the East Coast, about the growing trend.
Her boudoir packages start at $1,800—both locally and around the globe—and the women she works with, range in age, body type, what they do for a living and so much more. Boudoir is truly for everyone that wants to experience it.
Considering a session? Don’t worry: you don’t have to bare all. Some women opt for subtle and demure, while others prefer a more sensual spicy vibe.”
What lies beneath 3 questions for one of the nation’s top boudoir photographers.
We asked Critsey 3 questions we believe to be important in deciding on doing a boudoir photoshoot. Here are her answers:
Why do women today do boudoir shoots?
About 30 percent of the time when a woman contacts me, it’s for a groom’s gift or an anniversary present. But I feel like once they do the shoot, they realize that it was really something they did for themselves. 70 percent of women these days are doing a boudoir session for themselves first and maybe their partner second. It is not like the past and just a gift for their partner. Now more and more women are realizing what an empowering and uplifting gift it is for themselves. It changes them for the better. Selflove is a powerful tool.
How do you help women prepare?
I have a specially curated Beauty Prep Guide that tells them everything—what’s going to happen, how to prepare, what to wear, what to bring. It explains everything even down to the smallest of details. My job is to make their experience as stress-free as possible.
What would you say to someone who’s nervous to be photographed so intimately?
Everyone is nervous but after the first few minutes, they relax and see just how fun and easy the session actually is. My job is to make them look like models. I do pose coaching, so they don’t have to know or worry about anything. Women often tell me “I can’t model” or “I can’t look like the women on your website,” but that’s exactly my job to help every woman feel and look beautiful. No one is too old, too young, too skinny, too big. They are perfect just the way they are.
