Boudoir Love Notes | We Listen

Hello Gorgeous! If you read my blog on the regular then you know I love sharing my client’s stories and feedback. Today this includes some critical feedback. Yes, I could have just deleted what I didn’t want and only shared the good bits but in being transparent I wanted to share everything. It means a lot to me for my clients to love their experiences and to love their photos. One of the biggest reasons I ask for feedback is so I can grow and make changes to my business model as needed. As you will read below this client did not love her hair and makeup and even hated her photos at first. Oy!

I know how important feeling confident with your look can be for your session. My stylist will do a consult with you before she starts. You are welcome to bring inspiration photos for her. She will always ask you to look at your makeover when she is finished and for you to tell her if you have any changes. I also know this can be awkward and some clients may be too shy to speak up. Hair and makeup can only be changed at the time of your shoot and unfortunately not later in Photoshop. In today’s day and age, everyone assumes Photoshop can fix all things but honestly it cannot.

And although it is very rare that someone would not love their look, it can happen. Moving forward I plan to make it very clear that my sessions are 100% a safe space to say how you feel. Nobody is going to judge you or have hurt feelings. Our number one goal is for you to love EVERYTHING!

Feedback from Ms. E

Was there anything holding you back from booking a boudoir session?
Just my self-confidence.

What made you decide to book a boudoir session?
I wanted to remember myself when I was truly happy and in love.

What made your decision to book Couture Boudoir specifically?
I followed several different photographers on Instagram and her photos were the best!

What were you most nervous about before your boudoir session?
Being naked in front of another person.

Describe how you felt during your session?
I felt nervous in the beginning but as soon as I realized the compassion and passion of the photographer and the hair/makeup stylist, my nerves faded away quickly. I didn’t love my hair and makeup but I went with it anyway, I was feeling confident in the shoot and just did it. Once we started shooting it became fun. I felt like a supermodel, with many difficult poses and laughs!! I tell everyone I know how they should experience this for themselves.

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your boudoir photos?
It was a shock at first and I thought I hated them, but then after a second look, I was in love with myself and the pure beauty of all of my parts!

Describe your overall experience with Couture Boudoir…
Critsey was very accommodating and super quick to respond to all of my questions.

What would you tell other women hesitant in booking a boudoir session?
I would tell all women to do it!!

Is there anything you wish you would have known before your photoshoot?
Nope, all questions were answered.
