If you are planning on wearing a garter belt or lingerie with garters, you will need to buy stockings that do not have the plastic stay-ups or elasticized band at the top in order to wear them with the garter belt. You can find them at select department stores, Victoria’s Secret or Agent Provocateur—or the list of online stores below.
Sometimes the elasticized band at the top of the thigh highs can pinch your skin and make it bulge. If you plan to wear stay-ups without the garter belt just be sure you buy the correct size so they do not cause unnecessary bulges—no woman wants her thighs to look larger than they actually are! However, if you are wearing the thigh-highs with a garter I highly recommend not buying the elasticized thigh-highs altogether. Avoid buying any the kind that say “stay-ups” or “hold-ups”.
