When I say I have photographed all body types, all shapes, and sizes, and all types of women from all walks of life and all ages from Gen Z to Boomers, I really mean it. I adore my job and how much it gives to each and every woman my camera sees. Here is a love note from a beautiful young woman I had the pleasure of meeting early this year.
Gen Z Boudoir
As a member of Gen Z, I’ve grown up in a world that constantly bombards us with images of “perfect” bodies and beauty standards that are impossible to live up to. But, slowly but surely, we’re starting to push back against these unrealistic expectations and embrace our own unique beauty. And, for me, one of the most empowering ways to do that has been through boudoir photography.
When I first heard about boudoir photography, I was a little hesitant. The idea of baring it all in front of a camera seemed daunting and intimidating. But, as I started to explore the idea more, I realized that this was precisely why it was so powerful. By pushing myself to do something that scared me, I knew that I would be taking a huge step towards self-acceptance and body positivity.
So, I booked a boudoir photoshoot with Couture Boudoir. And, let me tell you, it was one of the most empowering experience of my life. The photographer, Critsey made me feel comfortable and guided me through poses that flattered my body and highlighted my unique features. And, when I saw the final images, I was blown away. They were beautiful, intimate, and most importantly, they celebrated my own unique beauty.
But, it’s not just about the final images. The experience of the photoshoot itself was incredibly empowering. I got to express myself through my wardrobe and styling choices, and I felt like I was reclaiming my own body and my own sense of beauty. It was a reminder that I am the one who gets to decide what is beautiful, not society.
I think that this is something that resonates with a lot of people my age. We’re starting to reject the unrealistic beauty standards that have been pushed on us for so long, and we’re looking for ways to embrace our own unique beauty. And, for me, boudoir photography has been a powerful tool in that journey.
It’s not just about looking good in a picture, it’s about celebrating ourselves, our bodies and capturing a moment in our lives. It’s about feeling confident, strong and beautiful. Boudoir photography has allowed me to free myself of negative views and appreciate my own unique body.
