“I found Couture Boudoir on Pinterest while looking for sexy lingerie. I stumbled down that rabbit hole and ended up on Critsey’s Couture Boudoir blog. I felt like she was speaking to me personally. I looked at every single photo and tried to imagine myself doing a boudoir shoot. I truly wanted to be one of these beautiful women and to feel confident and sexy just for myself. Of course, my husband would benefit as well.
Before my shoot, Critsey prepared me with everything I would need from what to wear to how to hydrate my skin pre-session. I was pretty clueless and had a lot of questions and found her guide to be super helpful. I literally read it front to back twice!
I admit I was nervous but also excited. I looked forward to the process and it did not disappoint. First, when I sat in the makeup chair the stylist asked me questions and made me feel so relaxed. She was so sweet and knowledgeable about skin types and tones. I was shocked she matched my skin so well with foundation and my eyes looked flawless. I already plan to use her for an upcoming event we are attending where I want to look amazing. I had never before had someone do my makeup and hair so perfectly. I felt like a bombshell!
Critsey looked over my wardrobe while I was in the makeup chair and chose the best of my outfits for the shoot. I probably brought way too much but she knew exactly what to choose and narrowed things down pretty quickly and I loved how she paired everything and picked a variety in a way that I could not have done.
By the time the shooting started, I was already relaxed and felt like we were all old friends. Critsey is calming and made me feel at ease. She really makes the whole process so easy and simple. She showed me how to pose and gave encouragement when I felt awkward. It is like she knew what I was thinking. Or maybe I just looked terrified. LOL. Seriously I do think she is intuitive and knows when to help cheer you on. Through it all, she’s such a calm presence.
Somehow she made me look like a model, I am not. I am probably the most awkward person you would ever meet. I can’t dance, I can’t even do yoga right. How this woman made me look like a model is magical. She is some kind of unicorn for sure. She knows all the right angles and how to use light to shape the body. She not only gave directions but she did the pose herself first to show me how to do it. OMG! That was so helpful and also made me feel like I could do it. I looked at my photos after and was just in awe.
I bought a small package upfront because honestly, I didn’t think I would love the photos as much as I did. I thought I would only like a few. I have never loved looking at myself and I always, always look awkward in photos. This is why I was so blown away when I saw myself in the photos for the first time. I now realize I just never had the right person take my photos before. You better bet Critsey will be my photographer for life. I ended up upgraded to one of her top-tier packages. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes! I have zero regrets and would pay her triple for the same exact experience and outcome. I am so completely satisfied with the whole experience and my gorgeous book.
If you are still debating on doing a shoot for yourself, I highly recommend doing a luxury boudoir experience with Critsey. She is truly the best of the best! I cannot say enough amazing things about her. She is that good y’all!
One last thing. Remember that husband I mentioned. Well, he was completely stunned when I shared my book with him. Notice how I said “my book” yep, this book is mine. He can enjoy it too but to me, this is something I want to keep as my own personal treasure to enjoy and pull out when I feel frumpy or in a bad mood.
