Hello, my lovelies! I often share boudoir love notes my clients send me. I started interviewing my wonderful clients after their boudoir session to get some insight into why they did their shoot, how it made them feel, and more. I think this can be so helpful to the women that want to do a session but are super nervous or apprehensive. Hopefully, this can give you insight and make you feel more confident to book your session!
I was thrilled to shoot with this beautiful client again. Her first shoot was ten years ago for her groom’s gift. She shared with me that after doing her first session she realized how much the photos meant to her and ultimately they were a gift to herself that she did not expect. For her second shoot, she planned it to be exclusively for herself but her husband could enjoy them too. She also said she did not worry about impressing him with the photos like the first time.
Was there anything holding you back from booking a boudoir session?
Initially yes. I wanted to do it when I turned 40 and knew I was done having children and could get my pre-baby body back.
What made you decide to book a boudoir session?
To celebrate ME!
What made your decision to book Couture Boudoir specifically?
Originally, we talked to Critsey about photographing our wedding in 2013. She was not available on our date but she mentioned boudoir photos. After looking at her website, I was so impressed I decided to book one as a groom’s gift to my husband.
What were you most nervous about before your boudoir session?
That I wouldn’t look good in my pictures. I’m sure that’s always everyone’s concern.
Describe how you felt during your session.
Always love hair and makeup because it makes you feel so “done up” and beautiful. I was a little nervous, but really after having kids, modesty kind of goes out the window. So I was definitely less nervous and less self-conscious this second time around. I felt relaxed after the first few photos and was able to loosen up and focus on feeling sexy. The session is quite taxing though! The positions, while they look beautiful once photographed, are very physically demanding. So worth it though!
How did you feel about yourself after seeing your boudoir photos?
I was so happy, I knew they would be great, but they turned out even better than I imagined. They exceeded my expectations!
Describe your overall experience with Couture Boudoir.
Always such a wonderful experience! Critsey is so sweet and so professional and really knows how to capture the beauty within all women. The entire process from A to Z and her communication is fantastic. Her guides and tips are so wonderful and really help in preparing for your session. After the session, photo selection is super easy using her online gallery. Overall, it’s just such an awesome experience!
What would you tell other women hesitant in booking a boudoir session?
You will absolutely look beautiful!!! And not to worry about posing, or “looking” sexy, b/c Critsey will help you with all that magic!
