Was there anything holding you back from booking a boudoir session?
I never felt “qualified” to do anything like a lingerie photo shoot.
What made you decide to book a boudoir session?
I read an article geared towards brides and thought I wish I had done this when I was younger.
What made your decision to book Couture Boudoir specifically?
The website is stunning. But honestly the tone of your first email reply made me immediately feel comfortable and reassured that I could do it.
What were you most nervous about before your boudoir session?
Not knowing what to do, how to pose , exposing the areas of my body that I wanted to hide.
Describe how you felt during your session?
I was very nervous before I got there. I immediately felt at ease when the hair and makeup artist took charge. I liked that you were showing samples albums etc while she was doing my hair and makeup. It put me at ease. She did a great job. I can’t pinpoint the moment where I started to relax but it was at the beginning. Demonstrating how to pose was the most helpful. By the end of the session, I felt like I had really let go and had so much fun. My husband will not get the book until later and I can’t wait to tell him about how much fun I had.
How did you feel about yourself after seeing your boudoir photos?
The photos far exceeded my expectations! You chose all the right angels to emphasize some of my better features and hide the areas that are showing my age. I truly felt 10 years younger in the photos. I showed the photos to my daughter and her reaction is one that I will treasure forever. She said “mom I am so proud of you for doing this. You are beautiful and you have no idea how you have impacted me to love my body and be confident in the way I am made”
Describe your overall experience with Couture Boudoir.
It was incredible and fun. I am so glad I did it.
What would you tell other women hesitant in booking a boudoir session?
My biggest hesitation was my age. I am 50 and thought any photographer is going to say why is she doing this at 50? You made me feel so comfortable and confident. And your work is beautiful. I would find a way to encourage more older women to do it! Even though I do not want my photos posted on your website, if you ever have a woman who is hesitant about doing it at her age, I would be happy to encourage her if that would be helpful. It was such a positive experience and I am so glad that I did it!
