When I first picked up a camera, I never imagined that one day my work and my mission would be shared in a national publication. Yet here we are. Being featured in First magazine feels both surreal and incredibly meaningful. It is more than a highlight on my career timeline. It is a moment that reminds me why I pour my heart into every single session. It also feels like a celebration of the women who step in front of my lens and trust me with their stories.
Today I want to share what this feature means to me, how it reflects the heart of Couture Boudoir, and why it reaffirms my belief that boudoir photography matters more than most people realize.

How the Feature Happened
People often assume that features in major magazines happen through some glamorous chain of events, but the reality is that it comes from years of consistency, passion, and doing right by the women who choose me as their photographer. When First magazine reached out and said they wanted to highlight my work, I had to read the email twice. I felt a rush of gratitude and a little disbelief. It was one of those moments where the universe quietly says, Keep going. You are on the right path.
As the story developed, I realized it was not just about me. It was about boudoir photography as a whole and the transformative power it holds. It was also about women finding confidence, reclaiming their stories, and embracing their beauty. That part meant the most.

Why This Feature Matters
Every time I speak with a client, she tells me she hopes to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Being featured in a national magazine helps amplify that message to women who may not even know this kind of experience exists. It helps reach those who need encouragement or reassurance that boudoir is not just for one type of woman. It is for every woman.
Additionally, features like this help break down misconceptions. Boudoir photography is often misunderstood or reduced to something purely physical. In reality, it is deeply emotional and incredibly personal. Women walk into a session feeling unsure or nervous, yet they leave feeling powerful and proud. This feature helps shine a light on that experience, and I could not be happier about that.

What This Means for My Clients
Although the feature feels like recognition of my work, it is really a reflection of every woman who has ever stepped in front of my camera. My clients shape the stories I tell. They inspire the images that catch a magazine editor’s eye. They bring their courage, their laughter, their vulnerability, and their trust.
Because of this feature, more women will discover boudoir sessions that feel luxurious, empowering, and safe. More women will see themselves in the pages of a magazine where beauty is framed in confidence instead of perfection. Additionally, more women will understand that boudoir is something they can do for themselves without needing a reason other than wanting to feel amazing.

Why Client Privacy Always Comes First
One thing I want every woman to know is this. Even though my work is published often, your images stay completely private unless you decide otherwise. That rule is non negotiable. Your privacy is always respected. A publication will never see a single image you have not personally approved.
Clients tell me all the time that they love seeing my work in magazines, but they also worry about whether their images could be next. So I make this clear from the beginning. Your gallery belongs to you. No one sees it except you unless you grant permission. Some clients choose to be featured because they want to celebrate their journey publicly. Others prefer their photos stay personal and sacred. Both choices are absolutely supported.
Trust is the foundation of everything I do. You cannot create intimate, emotional, and vulnerable portraits without it. Because of that, I guard my clients’ privacy fiercely. Featuring work in magazines is wonderful, but protecting the women I photograph matters far more.
The Heart Behind the Experience
Honors and publications are wonderful, but what truly drives me has always been the experience I get to create. Clients walk into the room carrying everything life has thrown at them. Some arrive after heartbreak. Others after milestones. Many arrive simply because they want to reclaim a piece of themselves that got lost somewhere along the way.
Although many women initially book a session expecting beautiful photographs, they leave realizing they gained something even stronger. They discover a renewed sense of self. They see the strength in their eyes. They experience a deep appreciation for their own story. Watching that transformation is the part I cherish most.

How This Inspires My Future Work
This feature feels like a gentle nudge to dream even bigger. It encourages me to continue creating experiences that feel elevated, thoughtful, and deeply personal. It also pushes me to reach more women who may still be hesitating, waiting for the ideal moment, or talking themselves out of doing something meaningful for themselves.
I hope this feature shows women that their stories matter. Their beauty deserves to be celebrated. Their confidence deserves to be nurtured. And their journey deserves to be seen.
A Personal Thank You

If you have been a client, a supporter, or someone who has cheered me on from afar, please know that you are part of this moment. Your trust is the reason I get to wake up every day and create art that speaks from the heart. Being featured in First magazine is a milestone for Couture Boudoir, but it is shared with every woman who has ever stepped into my world and allowed me to capture her at her most authentic.
Thank you for believing in this work and for showing up exactly as you are. I am grateful beyond words.
xo, Critsey
