Amazon Lingerie Haul | Boudoir Photo Shoot What To Wear

Being one of the top boudoir photographers in the country means I get to photograph all types of clients, and these beautiful ladies bring all types of lingerie from Agent Provocateur to Victoria’s Secret and many more brands to their boudoir session. One thing they almost all have in common is they have something in their lingerie collection they bought from Amazon.

Boudoir Photo Shoot What To Wear

Whenever I photograph a lingerie set I think looks fabulous on camera I make a note of it so I can share it with my clients. I have hundreds of posts on Instagram where I have shared where certain lingerie pieces have come from so I decided it was high time to share some blog posts on some of the fabulous pieces I’ve seen! Let’s start with Amazon.

The best part about Amazon Prime is you can get items quickly!! You may also order several sizes to try on and return what does not work for you. All of the items in this Amazon lingerie haul will make you feel and look super sexy for your boudoir photoshoot! Most of these are items previous clients have worn (or very similar). If you have found something that is amazing I would love to see it so please share!

These photos are from a previous shoot and this three-piece outfit by Leg Avenue cost less than $25 on Amazon! It is #6 in the list below. (don’t forget to buy thigh highs to go with this)

Boudoir shoot what to wear Quick Tip

Quick tip for your boudoir shoot:

When buying thigh-highs to wear with a garter belt, look for the ones without plastic stay-ups. The best way to know the difference is the photo on the package, if it shows no garter belt then those have the plastic and if it shows the garter belt then they are the correct kind. Be sure to get the correct ones for the best look.

Ideas on what to wear for boudoir photoshoot

I am often asked for ideas on what to wear for a boudoir photoshoot? Well, let me tell you there are many great items you can choose right out of your own closet. Not every item needs to be lingerie.

Choose at least one bra and panty set. Be sure to try on items to make sure they have a proper fit before your session. If you are like me you may still have some lingerie from years ago that you just have not thrown out because it is still perfectly good…however, since I have not worn it since 2015 it may not fit me now. PRO TIP: My best advice is to try everything on because it could be too big or too small.

THINK VARIETY
Simple bra and panty sets are great and so are strappy complicated nighties. Bralettes are super cute paired with a string panty. The more variety in your lingerie the more photo choices you will have. PRO TIP: If you are a B or smaller find a bra that has lace around the top of the cup. It will make you look a whole size bigger in photos. Can’t find one? You can sew lace in yourself.

SOMETHING OF HIS
Bring something that belongs to your guy. One of his button-up shirts and/or his tie. If you or your guy are sports fans bring a sports jersey with some knee-high socks. You could even take it a step further and order his favorite team jersey with your name on it or the words sexy. Be creative. The more you put into it, the more he will be blown away.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Have fun with your outfit choices and jewelry. (yes, don’t forget jewelry, more on that in a minute) You can choose bright colors and even be super wild by wearing mismatched bras and panties. Wear your favorite pair of cowgirl boots and a cowgirl hat or if you think your guy would love you in a nurse’s outfit – go for it! Try out something totally off the wall and fun! It can make for a fun and creative photo. PRO TIP: Only choose outfits that make you feel confident and sexy. If you would feel awkward wearing a costume then don’t bring it.

IN THE CLOSET
Look through your closet for a see-through or lace blouse, a soft sweater you can pull off your shoulders, a vest or sleeveless sweater. A tank or t-shirt can be sexier than you think – solid colors or with your favorite quote. Any unique or lace cropped tops can be cute with panties too.

ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
Bustiers are a great way to create curves and enhance cleavage. If you are smaller than a C cup is sure to bring the kind of bustier that has built-in cups. (usually, a corset does not have cups but I have seen a few bustiers without cups too) The bustiers without can make you look flat-chested and we don’t want that! For the ladies with large Ta-Ta’s you may want to experiment with which will work best for your girls. PRO TIP: Every BODY is shaped differently so my biggest tip is to try different styles of bustiers and corsets until you find the one that works best for your body type.

SUPER SPY SEXY
A trench coat with sexy high heels can be oh so mysterious. Don’t forget to look through your coat closet. If you have a form-fitting sexy coat bring it along. You know he fantasizes about you showing up to his office in nothing but a coat and heels all while he pretends to be James Bond. Oh wait, maybe that is every woman’s fantasy. PRO TIP: Jean jacket, leather jacket, or blazer can also be great for a photo opt.

ON TREND
Sheer strappy lingerie is all the rage this year and is not only sexy but can be super-steamy for photos. If you do not already own one be sure to purchase one for your shoot. Off the shoulders, blouses are also en vogue and will look great with a thong panty.

LEGS, LEGS, AND MORE LEGS
Almost every woman brings fishnets and/or thigh highs to her session. Oh, and did I mention garters can be a sexy little add-on to any panty and bra set? Yes, they can! Be sure to bring at least one pair of closed-toe heels to wear with your stockings. PRO TIP: My number one suggestion is if you plan to wear them with a garter belt, buy the kind without the plastic stay-ups. If you plan to not wear a garter then the plastic stay-ups are a must.

RED IS THE NEW BLACK
Many women come to their shoot with almost all black lingerie…snooze…Bring color!! The more variety the better. Red is always pretty damn hot. Honestly, any color pop is fantastic! Bring a variety.

MAKE A STATEMENT
Don’t forget jewelry A statement necklace can be cool for a few images and  Bring a few choices in earrings and rings as well. Long necklaces make for great props and short colorful pieces can add drama.

THREE INCHES OR MORE
And most of all don’t forget to bring some killer high heels! Nude heels can go with many outfit choices. Black heels are a staple. However, anything strappy, studded, or with bling is a must bring. The higher the better. Try to stay away from platform and wedges for your shoot.

What to wear or not to wear – boudoir

Figuring out what to wear or not to wear for your boudoir photo session can be daunting. But don’t stress because I am here to share not only encouragement but tips on how to prepare for the most amazing experience you can dream of.

The Rules

There are no rules when it comes to getting dressed for a boudoir photo session. You don’t have to wear clothes or be naked or topless. You can (and should) do whatever you feel most comfortable with. Your outfit, or lack thereof, should reflect your personality.

Finding confidence

If you feel uncomfortable, the photos will show that; on the flip side, if you feel attractive, even a typically basic outfit will come off as seductive and alluring. Take your time and decide what makes you feel the best. All in all this shoot might be for him but you will be the one to most benefit from your sexy photos if you truly love what you see.

Choosing outfits

Simple bra and panty sets are great and so are strappy complicated nighties. Bralettes are super cute paired with a string panty. The more variety in your lingerie the more photo choices you will have.

Boudoir wardrobe ideas – what to wear quick tip

Boudoir what to wear quick tip

The biggest key to having a good variety of images is bringing a good variety of lingerie. This includes bra and panty sets, nighties, slips, garter belts, stockings, Etc.

One of my favorite items that I think looks fabulous on every body type is the high wasted panty. There is just something so sexy about them. Of course, they need to be form-fitting or you may run the risk of looking like you have on granny panties! And we do not want that!

An added bonus is when they are embellished in some way. Do a little Google search for high waist panties to find your favorite pair.

Choosing what to wear for your boudoir shoot

There are so many choices of what to wear for your boudoir shoot. Start with the basics and find sexy but delicate bra and panty sets that mold to your body shape. It is a good idea to go for a bra fitting and find out what the best size bra for you would be. You would be shocked at how many women are wearing the wrong size bra! Another option would be when trying on different style bras, take three sizes in the fitting room with you. Sometimes a certain style may need to be purchased in a smaller/larger size.

What to wear to a Boudoir Photo Session

The point of a boudoir photo session is to feel beautiful. Boudoir is for all girls, no matter their shape, size or age. Telling you to have confidence isn’t enough, though – there are certain questions that you just need answered before your session so that you feel ready and prepared. Here are the solutions to your most plaguing concerns. What to wear boudoir photo shoot.

What Do I Wear?

Whatever you want! There are no rules when it comes to boudoir. If you want to be topless or completely nude, go for it. If you’d rather be covered up in a robe or oversized men’s shirt, that’s completely fine, too. It all depends on what look you’re going for and what you feel comfortable in. Want to get a little creative? Put together a few different outfits, like a super sexy black lace ensemble, 50 Shades of Grey fan? think bondage wear, Love retro? pin-up fashion can be très chic , Getting married? Go for bridal white. Costume changes mid-session are completely fine.

couture boudoir

If I Decide To Be Naked, How Much Will You See?

Just because you’re naked, that doesn’t mean that everything has to be on display. There are ways to shoot nudes while still covering up certain body parts. Talk to your photographer about what you want to cover up and what you’re comfortable showing. Full frontals are not a requirement!

I’ve Never Taken Sexy Photos. How Do I Know What To Do?

Nobody expects you to innately know how to model. Your photographer will be able to coach you when it comes to smiling, pouting and posing. Don’t worry about prepping your poses beforehand, if you don’t want to – all you have to do is show up.

Is There Any Way That I Should Prepare?

Besides bringing along a few outfits, you’ll want to get a manicure and pedicure beforehand, unless you plan on doing that on the day of your shoot, along with hair and makeup. If a professional is doing your hair and makeup, show up with clean, dry hair and skin. The night before the photo session, get plenty of sleep and drink a lot of water. The day of your session, continue sipping water, eat something light and avoid wearing tight clothing, including socks and undergarments, which could leave lines on your body.

Would It Be Weird If I Brought My Friends?

Not at all! Whether you just want to have someone you trust nearby or you and your girl friends want to all have boudoir photos taken, bringing someone along is normal. Make a day of it and ask your photographer if you can have a boudoir party session.

I Have the Photos…Now What?

Hang them in your bedroom or, if you’re not shy in the slightest, decorate your hallway or living room with them. You can also make a small photo book to keep in your nightstand if you don’t want them front-and-center in your home. Giving them to your man? Wrap them up and present them when you two have some alone time.
